The windmills stand atop the scenic South Downs with spectacular views of the Sussex Weald near Clayton and Ditchling. As well as Jack and Jill, the roundhouse of Duncton Mill survives, located a short distance east of Jack. The windmills are easily accessible by road at the end of Mill Lane from the A273 road where it crosses the South Downs. There is ample free parking in the car park beside the mills and is a perfect stop to incorporate in a gentle walk along the Downs. Jill is open to visitors 2 til 5 most Sunday afternoons from May to September and also has a souvenir and tea shop. For more details of special events including Open Days visit their website.
